He is survived by: his daughter Melissa Kelly (Bill) of Odin, Illinois; his grandchildren, Chelsea Simmons (Jordan) of Centralia, Kameron Householder (Brady) of Salem and Braden Kelly of Fort Liberty; his great grandchildren, Kynsleigh Simmons, Hadley Householder, Nora Householder and Huxton "Jack" DeWolf; his siblings, Kent Leonard (Deb) of Urich, Brad Simmons of Urich, Missouri and Ladena Spurgeon of California; his stepsiblings, David Hancock, Sandra Hancock and Alice Hancock; his sister-in-law Christine Egger; and his niece Deidra Rapp (Tyler).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Simmons' honor to the Second Chance Animal Rescue of Fayette County at 1332 North 1150 Street in Vandalia, Illinois, and may be received by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home at 134 South Elm Street in Centralia, Illinois.
