She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Tillman and Ann Tillman (Woolbright); her siblings, Patricia Wessling, Jim Tillman and David Tillman; and her son Rick Steele.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Steele (Sandy) of Johnston City, Sharon Reed (Mike) of Centralia, Vicki Steele of Odin, Jane Laffoon (Joe) of Odin, David Steele (Mimi) of Salem, Marcia Pearce (Gary) of High Point, NC, Cindy Perkins (Tony) of Odin and Ann O'Neil (Denny) of Joliet; her siblings, Tony Tillman (Carol) of Portage, MI and Mary "Miki" Holt (Bob) of Harlingen, TX; her siblings-in-law, Marlene Tillman of Lodi, CA, Pat Tillman of Assumption, IL and Carl Steele (Lula) of Rockford; her adoptive daughter Ruth Ann Black; her pet Susie Q; and her husband Virgil Steele. She is also survived by 37 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in Barbara's honor to St. Judes Children's Hospital or Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ in Donaldson, IN.
