He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles "Chick" Schaley and Dorothy Schaley (Hogabaum). He is survived by: his stepfather Maynard Wills (Dorothy Schaley); his wife Nancy Burt Brown; his children, Brenda Lashelle (Joe), Barry Schaley (Angie), Nick Schaley (Karen Frank) and Dorothy Benters (Dave); his stepbrother Leo "Butch" Wills (Irma) of Clinton, IA; his grandchildren, Brooke Gordon (Brandon), Erica Foley (Cody), Riley Lashelle (Dylan Preston), Brandon Lashelle, Jon Hess (Rachael Hill), Blaise Thurm (Jeremy), Ashton Schaley, Caprice Schaley, Emily Schaley, Damien Fahlbeck (Emily), Jake Benters, Nickie Benters and Taylor Benters; and his great grandchildren, Addison, Ainsley, Callan, Easton, Jace, Laken, Lauren, Lexi, Madisyn, Oliver, Olivia, Owen, Reegan, River and Sheyene. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
