He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rutherford and Vera Rutherford (Hooper); his son John David; and his great grandchild Maxwell Cook. He is survived by: his former spouse Dorthey Ellen McKean; his wife Phyllis M. Powers; his daughters, Sue Kopetz (Mark) of Oakley, Lori Rose (Mark) of Fortson, GA, Vera Bart (Rob) of Cerro Gordo and Nancy Christy (Michael) of Decatur; his stepdaughter Jennifer Kraft of St. Louis, MO; and his daughter-in-law Debra Rutherford of Tulsa, OK. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, thirty seven great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
