He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard McKinley and Lula Bell Bell (Barnhouse); his sons, James Richard Bell, Jr. and Rodney Bell; and his sisters, Betty Babb, Mary Glatz and LaDawn Simms.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy L. Ellis; his daughters, Penelope Hicks (Gerald) of Mt. Zion, IL, Ramona Benedict (Thomas) of Phoenix, NY and Tammy Cook (Jim) of LeRoy, IL; and his grandchildren, Nick Hicks (Alix), Jacob Cook, Josh Cook (Melanie), Emily Coley (Scott), Nathan Cook and Tyler Cook. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
