It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wayne Lee Abitz of Oakland, Illinois, born in Wausau, Wisconsin, who passed away on October 11, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lyle Abitz and Margareth Abitz (Wolfe); his spouse Shirley Kay Thomas; his children, Wayne Lee Abitz Jr. (Suzie), Maureen Ritchie (Bob Diel), Chad Abitz (Jessica), Candy Lynn Canull (Mike Davis), Krystal Lang (Brian), Windi Abitz (Ryan Atteberry), Clint Abitz (Bridgette Patraw), Tony Abitz and Bubba Abitz (Kimberly Creek); his daughter-in-law Faith Abitz; his mother-in-law Reba Thomas; his siblings, Cathy Coscio (Marcelo), Lyle Abitz (Margaret), Carole Abitz, Mark Abitz, Doug Abitz Dean (Diane), Diane Reynolds (Clyde) and Sharon Williams (Willi); and his son Lloyd Abitz. He was also cherished by twenty-six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
