Wendel of Oakland, Illinois, born in Tuscola, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 16, 2024 at the age of 79. He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy Martin and Lenora Pearl Wendel (Stark); and his son-in-law Tim Bodle. He is survived by: his wife Deloris Fae Lewis; his daughters, Laurie Bodle of Oakland, IL, Lisa McCollum (Brad) of Oakland, IL and Jada Houk (Andy) of Oakland, IL; his siblings, Larry Wendel of California and Sharon Wendel of Decatur, IL; his grandchildren, Jami Damron (Brian), Jori Downey (Brent), Tyler Bodle (Hilary), Chris Silva, Tanner Bodle, Benjamin Houk (Vanessa), Anna Houk, Isabel Smith (Mason) and Levi Houk; his great grandchildren, Jackson, Dylan, Harley Damron, Brayden Downey, Aiden and Asher Bodle; and his adoptive daughter Diane Hearn of Oakland, IL..
