He was predeceased by: his father Henry (Olinda); and his siblings, Adrian (Mary), Ernest (Evelyn), Charles, Lawrence, Troy Sauerhage (Annette), Caroline McKinney (Charlie), Kathleen Rueter (Ralph), Roma Walker (Elmer), Loretta Seering (Stanley) and Geraldine Steffen.
He is survived by: his wife Betty M.; his children, Rick Sauerhage (Lori Baynes) of Oakdale, IL and Ritta Knau (Jack) of Oakdale, IL; his grandchildren, Cole Sauerhage, Matthew Sauerhage, James Morrison (Devika), Devin and Brandon Knau; his siblings-in-law, Helen Sauerhage of Coulterville, IL and Earl Steffen; and his pet Jake. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calendar Moll Funeral Home (34 W Main St, Mascoutah, IL 62258). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
