He was predeceased by: his parents, Naomi Shanks and Ola Shanks; his siblings, Charles Shanks (late Lorraine), Warren Shanks (late Lois), Lillian Marshall (Bruce) and Shirley Shanks; and his nephew James Anthony Shanks.
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Rhonda Shanks, Bartel Shanks (Georgia), Preston Shanks, Renee Shanks, Briget Williams (Anthony) and Denise Shanks.
