He is survived by: his wife Patricia Bacom Optholt; his children, Sam (Claire), Luke (Heather), Bridget (Zach), Grace (Dan) and Elizabeth; and his siblings, Janelle (John) and Joel (Jeannine). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
