The passing of Brett M. Mares of Oak Park, Illinois leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on March 2, 2025 at the age of 40. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Brett M. Mares to show support.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Kari; his sons, Samuel and Charles; his parents, Philip James (Jim) and Sheryl Mares; his sisters, Melissa Mares Stambor (Zachary Stambor) and Courtney Mares; his in-laws, Ronald and Mary Jo Schmidt; and his siblings-in-law, Craig Schmidt (Jennifer), Eric Schmidt (Heather) and Kristi Hyten (Steve).

Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Peterson-Bassi Chapels (6938 W North Ave, Chicago, IL 60707). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Giles Church (1045 Columbian Ave, Oak Park, IL 60302). A shiva was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and at 5:30 PM at the Stambor Residence.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to support HLRCC research would be appreciated.
