She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Mason and Mary Lou Mason (Roby); her husband George Akins; her siblings, Roberta Robinson of Waterloo Iowa, Mary Mason, Lewis Mason Jr. of Hampton Virginia, David Lee Mason of Illinois, Eugene Mason, Walter James Mason and John Robert Mason of Waterloo Iowa; and her great grandchild Faith Johnson of Illinois.
She is survived by: her daughter Dorothy Ann Hart (Alexander Hart Jr); her stepdaughter Patricia Akins; her siblings, Barney Mason, Katie Mason and Dora Virgin; her grandchildren, Katrina Johnson (Robert Johnson), Traci Hagerman, Sherita Hart, David Hart, Patricia Hart, Natalie Hart, Isadore Hart and Raniyah Akins; and her great grandchildren, Jerjuan Davis, Donye Anderson, Kannon Evans, Dion Campbell and Robert Johnson.
