It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Laura J. Helmer of Oak Lawn, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on March 27, 2021, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Doreen Haithwaite and James Haithwaite (Pop Pop); her husband Theodore Helmer (Ted); her brother Robert Haithwaite; and her granddaughter Keryn Megan Lange.
She is survived by: her pet English Springer Spaniel; her children, Deborah Zitur (Dave) and Dayne Helmer; her granddaughters, Kim Andrade (Rob) and Kilee Christnagel (Steven); her great grandchildren, Ryan, Anna, Nick, Laura, Thomas and Lucille; her pets, Violet, Bubba, Wanda and Kemma; and her friends, Marilyn and Harold Westendorf. She is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Happy Tails Rescue of MN (tailsrescue.org) to honor Laura's love for dogs, especially her rescued Boomer that lived an amazing 20 years.
