He was predeceased by: his wife Doreen Melvin; his siblings, Dennis, Arthur Melvin Jr. and Linda Smicklas; and his parents, Madlyn Rose McNealy and Arthur Cornelius Melvin.

He is survived by: his siblings, William'Billy'Melvin, Christine'Chris'Hansen and Debbie Povlock; his children, Jason Melvin and Jennifer Melvin; and his grandchildren, Alicia Melvin, Nathyn, Jay and Greyson Melvin.
