He is survived by: his parents, Fred Birsa and Ruth Birsa; his children, Bernice Boehlen (Ben Winn), Scott Birsa and Deanne Medina (Sonny); his grandchildren, Sydney Medina, Sonny Medina, Jr., Jacob Boehlen and Braydin Winn; his sisters, Ruthann "Birsa" Novak and Julie "Birsa" Elliott (Bob); and his pet Buddy. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
