He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Marie Dathe and Ewald Dathe (Ed); his wife Pat Florey Jacobs Dathe; his former wife Patricia O'Dea; his children, Susan Dathe-Douglass (Whitney), Laura Zalnis (Robert), Karen Eyre (Richard) and Donald Dathe (Aimée); his grandchildren, Katie Meekma (Benjamin), Andrew Eyre (Maggie), Kevin Zalnis (Danielle), Jonathan Dathe (Megan) and Joseph Dathe (Katie); his great grandchildren, Jack, Addie, Gus, Ingrid, Libby, Tanner, Sawyer and Leo; his stepdaughters, Cheryl Larson (Ross) and Pattie Fletcher (Doug); his grandchildren, Ross Larson (Kelly), Michael Larson (Kimberly), Samantha Larson, Rachel Larson, Andy Fletcher, Rebecca Fletcher, Melissa Fletcher and Abbi Fletcher; his siblings, Marilyn Kroll and Melvin Dathe (Geraldine); his sisters-in-law, Sandy McCullom (David) and Wendy Tomczak (Eddy); and also, Charlie, Rory, Quinn, Eric, Ryan and Rylee. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no wake or funeral at this time.
