He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Barella and Josephine Barella (Hryniewicz); and his brother Edmund R. Barella. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen (Vuckovich); his children, Richard E. Barella, Renee Tough (Mike) and Regina Vatashki (Alex); and his grandchildren, Nichole Tough, Marcus Hart, Richard Barella, Johnathon Tough and Michael Tough.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Disabled American Veterans or the American Cancer Society in Richard's name would be appreciated.
