He was predeceased by: his parents, Isadore and Dora; his sons, Robert and Dennis Elster; his sister Hannah; and his niece Eileen Hirschtick.
He is survived by: his wife Rita; his sons, Kenneth Elster (late Dianne), Lawrence Elster (Michelle) and Mark Elster (Joanne); his grandchildren, Richard Elster, Robyn Godwin (David), Matthew Elster (Jennifer), Sara Elster, Jeffrey Elster (Amberlee Mucha), David Elster (Susannah Maiken), Roxanne Elster, Joshua Elster and Leah Elster; his great grandchildren, Jonah, Avi Elster and Fond; his siblings, Fannie, Samuel and Michael; and his niece Laurie Rosner.
