It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Malcolm Dean McMichael in Northbrook, Illinois, born in Mason City, Iowa, who passed away on May 31, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Sara and Malcolm McMichael Sr. of Mason City, Iowa; and his sister Sara (Robert Musgjerd) of Wilmette. He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, Barb McMichael Poulsen (Bob) of Arlington Heights and Malcolm III (Betsy Friesen) of Carbondale, Colorado; and his grandchildren, Jim, Kate, Dean and Andy.
A fighter and a survivor until the end, Mike outlasted Covid lockdowns and timed his departure to allow his family to gather around him before he relinquished his grip on this world, and in the end drifted peacefully towards the next.
