He was predeceased by: his parents, Agnes Shanahan (Corcoran) and Jeremiah Shanahan; and his siblings, Edmond and Mary Catherine. He is survived by: his wife Karen; his children, Kevin Shanahan (Laura), Kathleen Ritten (Christopher), David (Darlene DeRouchey), Paul and Michael Shanahan; his grandchildren, Julie (Andrew Morris), Lisa, Brian, Molly Shanahan, Claire, Sarah, Maria, Anne, Bridget Ritten, Christopher Shanahan (Katie), Katelyn Schumacher (Peter) and Kevin Shanahan; and his great grandchild Henry Shanahan.
