He was predeceased by: his wife JoAnn; his son John M. "Jack" Degnan; and his sister Susanne Degnan. He is survived by: his sons, James E. Degnan III, Joseph M. (Ashely) and Michael Degnan; and his sister Elizabeth Finn (Leo).
