He was predeceased by: his sister Joanne; his former wife Betty Zinn Thompson; and his parents, Gilman Thompson and Catharine Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Gail Robinson Thompson; his children, Kathy DiCianni, Pete Thompson and Howard Scott Thompson (Terri); his stepdaughters, Deryn Pilliod (Larry) and Ceri Hartnett; and his grandchildren, Matt DiCianni (Sophia), Kristen Dettman (Travis), Ellie Friske (Scott), Jack DiCianni, Ashley McPartlin (Jared), Carly Funk, Melanie Thompson, Andrew Thompson, Alivia Thompson, Kyla Pilliod, Luke Pilliod, Kiaran Hartnett, Liam Hartnett and Bryn Hartnett.
Instead of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to Compassion International, a worldwide organization committed to supporting children living in poverty.
