She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Rice and Nova Rice (Holman); her husband John "Jack" Carmitchel; her siblings, Ernest "Dean" Rice, Phillip Rice, Jane Vasey and Ruth Hayson; and her grandson Nicholas Carmitchel.
She is survived by: her children, Andrew Carmitchel (Martha) of Lake St, Bruce Carmitchel (Jan) of Lincoln, John Abney (Ruth) of Menominee, WI, Linda Yonke (Gary) of Northbrook and Nancy Pozo (Javier) of Overland Park, KS; and her siblings, Dorothy Randall of Grayson, GA, Marilyn Farrar of Oshkosh, WI, Ella Jean Willard of Kankakee, Linda Burba of Flint, MI and Keith Rice (Judy) of Maryville, TN. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
