He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Willard Van Treeck and Nancy Joanne Van Treeck; and his siblings-in-law, Ronald Butterworth and Nina Ferreri (Carlo). He is survived by: his wife Karen Butterworth Van Treeck; his brothers, Gerald, Jr. (Kathleen), Michael (Megan) and Glenn Van Treeck (Ann); his brother-in-law Steven Butterworth; and his nieces and nephews, Diane, Thomas Van Treeck, Michayla, John Michael Van Treeck (Delaney), Claire, Joseph Van Treeck, Aimee (Chris), Erik, Ian Butterworth (Kate), Christopher Gottwalt (Melissa), Nicholas Gottwalt (Tara) and Elisa Kay Wax (Kevin).
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church (1133 Pfingsten Rd, Northbrook, IL 60062). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Arthritis Foundation's Walk to Cure Arthritis: Team Sisu.
