He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Fitzgerald and Jessie Fitzgerald; his siblings, Dorothy M. Fitzgerald, Shirley L Erby and Thomas M. Fitzgerald; his son Brian Linder-Fitzgerald; and his grandson George Rodriguez.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Fitzgerald; and his children, James R. "BaBa" Fitzgerald, Jr., Otis C. Fitzgerald, Ronald A. Fitzgerald, Angela C. Fitzgerald-Lewis, Elija Fitzgerald, Joseph Fitzgerald (Cathy), Christopher "Billy" Fitzgerald (Annica), Lisa Nettles (Marc), Dianne Fitzgerald, Tamera "Tammy" Scott and Michael Bowden (Denise). He is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, and a nephew.
