He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Kies and Gladys Kies (Hanosh); and his siblings, Gladys "Marilyn" Hoffman, Norma Jean Eck and Robert Edward. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and great great great nieces and nephews, beside many cousins.
