He was predeceased by: his parents, Harris Johnson and Olive Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Purdeu; his children, Victoria Hoffman (Joseph), Cassandra Schramm (Kevin), Matthew Johnson (Jackie) and Lindsey Colby (Merrill); his grandchildren, Nora Schramm, Lily Hoffman, Evelyn Johnson, Luke Hoffman, Trey Colby, Blake Colby, Leah Schramm and James Hoffman; and his sister Barbara Scheibe (David).
