He is survived by: his wife Joan Ann Okapal; his children, Tammy Jo Fichtel De (Don), Mike Fichtel (Monica), Megan, Samantha and Shawn; and his siblings, Donald Fichtel, Fritz Fichtel, Richard Fichtel, David Fichtel and Pat Fichtel Harkins. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
