He was predeceased by: his mother Florence Cooper; his daughters, Cynthia Contreras and Wendy Mortenson; and his grandson Jacob Graves. He is survived by: his wife Carmen Graves; his children, Robin Graves (Roxanne Benefiel), Michael Graves (Rita), David Graves, Alicia Morales (Rafael), Trini Cervantes, Mary Peifer (Jeffrey), Lorenzo Camargo (Ana) and Twenty; his grandchildren, Rafael Morales (Emily), Veronica Downey (Roarke), Myra Drebes (Nichalos), Carina Mendoza (Agustin), Erika Morales, Aaron Peifer, Matthew Peifer, Lauren Peifer, Zoe Peifer, Lily Camargo, Alyssa Camargo, Abraham Camargo, Shawna Juett, Michael Stancil, Joshua Stancil, Ryan Graves, Stephanie Graves, Daniel Contreras, Zachary Mortenson and Ryan Mortenson; his great grandchildren, Jordan, Derek, Karleigh Drebes, Isaac, Samuel, Alex Morales, Milo, Luca Downey, Dario, Daniel Saucedo, Lucero Mendoza, Julian Contreras, Oliver Mortenson, Sirius Juett, Lexi, Addison Stancil and Tori Anna Buttrey; and his great great grandchildren, Avaiah, Zaylay and Myla Buttrey.
