He was predeceased by: his father James Batteese; and his brother James Albert Batteese. He is survived by: his mother Norma Batteese (James) of Norris City, IL; his son Thomas Edward Batteese Jr. (Angelina) of Fairfield, IL; his grandchildren, Axton, Mia and Summer; and his siblings, Deborah Goodman (Junior) of Farmersburg, IN, Michael Batteese of Norris City, IL and Sherry York of Mena, AR. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
