It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kay Johnson of Norris City, Illinois, who passed away on February 25, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Kay has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Ingram and Sarah Ingram (Webb); and her brother Steve Ingram. She is survived by: her husband Jerry "Gig" Johnson of Norris City, IL; her children, Julie Beckman (Steve) of Carlyle, IL, Joni Baldwin (David) of Norris City, IL, Jay Johnson (Lori) of Omaha, IL. and Jill Pruitt (Jason) of Norris City, IL; and her sister Joyce Auten of McLeansboro, IL.. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the United Cumberland Presbyterian Church- Norris City (204 S Powell St, Norris City, IL 62869). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Southern Illinois Hospice or to Norris City United Cumberland Church, and will be accepted at the church and may also be mailed to 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL. 62821.
