It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carl Whipple of Norris City, Illinois, born in Omaha, Illinois, who passed away on June 13, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Alfred and Doris Alberta Whipple (Switzer); his former wife Betty Aud; his siblings, Joan Raney, Richard and Gene Whipple; his son-in-law Robert Bowman, III; and his stepdaughter Tasha Contello.
He is survived by: his wife Victoria Steffl; his children, Sherry Bowman of Charlotte, NC, Michael Whipple (Sandra) of LaGrange, KY and Tom Whipple (Margaret) of Champaign, IL; his stepchildren, Tessa Skye of Norris City, Daniel Steffl of Norris City and Jay Contello of Kansas City, MO; his brothers, Lloyd Whipple of Oklahoma City, OK and Wayne Whipple of Omaha, IL; and his grandchildren, Andrew Whipple (Brittani), Michael Bowman, Rachel Traughber (Kenneth), Patrick Whipple (Rachel) and April Holbrook (Al). He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carl's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City who is in charge of arrangements.
