It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Ann Nielsen of Norris City, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on March 6, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Barnes and Helen D. Barnes (Raymond C. Nielsen); her son Paul C. Nielsen; and her siblings-in-law, Tom Thompson, Christian Nielsen and Joanne Nielsen.
She is survived by: her sister Bonnie Thompson; her son Gary Nielsen (Laura Duran); her nieces and nephews, Laurae Nielsen, Kristen Thompson, Steven Thompson and David Thompson (Bonnie); her great-niece Olivia; and her sister-in-law Dorothy Pedersen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to the Norris City United Methodist Church and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City or by mail to 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821.
