He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Nancy; his children, Thomas Michael Gutzman (Vivian) and Nancy Ann Soprych (Robert); and his granddaughters, Emily, Julia and Bella.

Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cumberland Chapels (8300 W Lawrence Ave, Norridge, IL 60706). Viewing was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Tarcissus Church (6020 W Ardmore Ave, Chicago, IL 60646).
