He was predeceased by: his wife Theresia; and his parents, Dorothea Weis and Michael Weis. He is survived by: his daughters, Theresia "Terri" Gentile (Michael), Dorothea "Dorothy" Mascio (Michael) and Anna Wasyliw (Peter); his grandchildren, Nicole Gentile-Holmbeck (Ryan), Dana Burback (Ryan), Christina Gentile, Kristen Mascio, Jennifer Lasak (Luke), Joseph Mascio, Peter (Megan), Nicholas (Sabrina) and Michael Wasyliw; his great grandchildren, Lily, James, Grayson, Adeline, Wyatt, Liam, Scarlett and Peyton; and his siblings, Helmut Weis and Elfrieda Pfhulmann.

Visitation was held on Sunday, November 24th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cumberland Chapels (8300 W Lawrence Ave, Norridge, IL 60706). Viewing will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Pascal Church (6199 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL 60634). A burial will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the St. Adalbert Cemetery (6800 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714).
