She was predeceased by: her husband Bernard Shapiro; her close friend Jerome Cole; and her sister-in-law Annette Jaffe. She is survived by: her children, Marlene Miller (Joel), Dr. Richard Shapiro (Patti) and Steven Shapiro (Jamie); her grandchildren, Jason Miller, Matthew Miller (Onelia), Jessica Reddy (Aditya), Dr. Kimberly Shapiro, Stephanie Rubin (Scot), Brett Shapiro (Brooke), Carrie Shapiro, Samantha Swerdlin (Geoff), Jacklyn Nader (Adam), Nicole Duckler (Brian), Loie of Emilia, Oliver, Isla, Austin, Madison, Sage, Nate, Alana, Aiden, Lyla, Blake, Kindred and Nolan; and her brother Howard Goss (Roberta).
