He was predeceased by: his wife Janice Simons Pizzolato; his parents, John Simons and Vivian Simons; and his siblings, Gail Petty (Bill) and Loretta Hageman (Bob).

He is survived by: his daughters, Desiree Matos (Mark), Nicole Porrata (Eddie) and Kristen Rubio (Steve); his grandchildren, Taylor Matos, Mark Jr. Matos, Riley Matos, Ariana Porrata, Makayla Rubio, Jonathan Porrata and Stevie Rubio Jr.; and his sister Patsy Kroncke (Art). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
