He was predeceased by: his parents, Almos Barnhill and Rubye Barnhill; his siblings, Shirley (Junior Green) and Dean; and his sister-in-law Darla Barnhill.

He is survived by: his sister Nita Welch (John); his children, Bob Barnhill and Jodi Barnhill (Ted Hermann); and his great grandchildren, Anthony Barnhill and Heath Robinson. He is also survived by four grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made to OSF Hospice program.
