He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald P. Schenk and Carolyn M. Goldsmith Schenk; his brother Steve; his granddaughter Ryder; and his son Adam.

He is survived by: his children, Erica Lopez (Rodrigo) of Normal and Brandon Schenk (Carley Price) of Bloomington; his fiancée Linda Hickey of Normal; his grandchildren, Liliana Mae Lopez and Navy James Schenk; and his siblings, Linda Schenk of Bloomington and David Schenk (Colleen) of Bloomington.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 28th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial (1104 N Main St, Bloomington, IL 61701). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 28th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
