He was predeceased by: his father Charles Howard; and his stepfather Phillip Butler. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Shepard; his daughters, Debra Thoms and Brandy Howard (Jennifer Miller); his grandchildren, Whitney Thoms of Bloomington, IL, Tyler Thompson (Carlee), Allie Thoms (Isaiah Young) and J. T. Thoms; his great grandchild Elia Young of Normal, IL; and his brother Carlos Embry (Laurelle) of Bloomington, IL. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews aunts and cousins.
The family suggests memorials be made to Illinois Special Olympics or Victory Junction or the Wounded Warriors Project Larry was born December 6, 1946 in Bloomington, IL the son of William Godden and Anna Orr.
