She was predeceased by: her father Norbert Schmitt. She is survived by: her mother Rose Schmitt; her husband Tom Hankins; and her siblings, Jeff, Scott (Denise), Steve (Macky), Kurt (Jennifer), Sheila Myllykangas (Kevin) and Ryan (Meghan). She is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews.

A reception was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Calvert & Metzler Memorial (1115 E Washington St, Bloomington, IL 61701).

The family suggests memorials to be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or Carle BroMenn Hospice.
