He is survived by: his sister Genevieve Schentzel of Edina; his children, Del Gilpin III (Sue) of Bloomington and Lisa Brittingham (John) of Normal; his grandchildren, Tiffany Smith (Eric), Nathan Brittingham, Jenica Brittingham, Daniel Gilpin, Amanda Highland (Chris), Eric Gilpin and Grace Gilpin; his great grandchildren, Peyton, Colton Smith, Abigail and Davis Highland; his nieces, Joanne Schentzel, Mary Farmer and Virginia Bunner; and his nephew Keith Schentzel.
The family suggests memorials be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington, IL or Honor Flight.
