He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harrison "Harry" and Dorothy Josephine Gregory Pisell; and his siblings, Judy Price, Mary Jo Dickerson and Gregory Pisell.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy C. Snyder of Normal; and his children, Tara Gosnell (Dennis) of Normal, Jim M. Pisell of Jacksonville and Catherine Hackman of Normal. He is also survived by four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
