Gordon L. Ropp Obituary

We are sad to announce that on April 14, 2020, at the age of 87, Gordon L. Ropp (Normal, Illinois) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence R. Ropp and Mabel Ropp (Mohr); his wife Roberta L. Cutter; his son David; and his sister JoAnne.

He is survived by: his children, Diana Ropp of Normal and Darren Ropp of Strawn; his grandchildren, Shana Emberton (Kevin Mulloy) of Normal, Jeff Emberton of Boulder, Troy Emberton (Sarune) of Boulder, Samantha Fairbanks (Josh) of Anamosa, Savannah Ropp of Chicago, Sadie Ropp of Champaign, Domonique Ropp of Oklahoma and Daniel Ropp of Oklahoma; his great grandchildren, Levi Emberton, Wyatt Emberton, Augustus Emberton, Avery Mulloy and Emma Mulloy; and his brother Ray Ropp (Carol).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Bloomington, Illinois Cancer Care Foundation, McLean County 4H Foundation or to the donor's choice.

“Jerry and I have such fond memories of the many fun times we had with Gordon and Roberta! Our small social group was fondly called the "Deer Friends" because we got together to make wooden deer Christmas decorations one year. After that we exchanged some kind of "deer decoration" every Christmas You may find lots of deer ornaments in his Christmas decorating box!! The world has lost a special man! Our sincere sympathy to all of you Jerry and Alberta Newman”
