He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Borst and Marie Borst (Meagher); his brother Thomas Borst; his sister-in-law Betty; and his son-in-law Christopher Batt.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn J. Ward; his children, Lena Batt and Edward "Alex" Borst Jr.; his daughter-in-law Mistey; and his grandchildren, Eamonn Batt, Ciaran Batt, Kiley Borst, Gretchen Borst and Edward "Eddie" Borst III. He is also survived by 3 nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lions Club International Foundation.
