With solemn reverence, we commemorate Dennis DeWerff of Normal, Illinois, born in Nokomis, Illinois, whose life came to an end on January 24, 2025 at the age of 65, leaving behind cherished memories. He was predeceased by: his father James DeWerff; his brother Stephen DeWerff; his nephew Zach DeWerff; and his brother-in-law Ed Finley. He is survived by: his daughters, Samantha DeWerff (Dave Krause) and Jessica Helton (Alex); his granddaughters, Anna, Josie Krause, Penelope and Violet Helton; his mother Elizabeth DeWerff; and his siblings, Kevin DeWerff (Kathy), Nancy Roberts (Rick), Kathryn Finley, Timothy DeWerff (Shell) and Chrissy DeWerff (Brad Whalen). He is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St Louis Catholic Church (311 S Elm St, Nokomis, IL 62075).
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Northwestern Medicine where funds can be allocated to Brain Tumors.
