He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Mitchell and Bertha Mitchell (Belva); and his siblings, Kenneth, Carl Mitchell and Joan Rubenacker.
He is survived by: his wife Arlene Mitchell (Caputo); his children, Michael Mitchell (Cathy) of Fountain Hills, AZ, David Mitchell (Paula) of Mesa, AZ, Robert Mitchell of Carlock, IL and Nancy Todd (James) of Heyworth, IL; his grandchildren, Josh Mitchell (Sarah), Alyssa Fry (Rory), Sydney Mitchell, Jacob Mitchell and Mitchell Todd; his great grandchildren, Braxton, Mackenzie Mitchell, Delaney, Sadie and Logan Fry; his sister-in-law Margie Mitchell; and his nieces, Donna Caldwell (Gary) and Karla Floor (Tim).
In keeping how Mitch generously lived his life, the family is requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in his name to American Legion Post 635, Paralyzed Veterans or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
