He is survived by: his wife Polly Herr; his daughter Katie; his granddaughter Morgan of Normal; his siblings, Peggy Freud (Doug) of Chicago, Donna Schott of Cary, IL, Robert Schott of San Antonio, TX, John Schott of Fort McCoy, FL. and Therese; his daughter Sarah; and his pet Murphy.

A funeral service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the East Lawn Funeral Home (1102 Airport Rd, Bloomington, IL 61704). A celebration of life was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Central Illinois.
