With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ann L. Pontius of Normal, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 18, 2025 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ann L. Pontius to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Arthur Lewis and Lillian Steane Lewis; and her brother Arthur Lewis, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Dr. David R. Pontius; her sons, Peter (Angie Ehrmantraut Britch) and Lawrence (Deepti Gupta-Pontius); her grandchildren, Bailey, Spencer and Joshua; her pets, Bentley and Sugar Kane; and her brother Allan Lewis.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Heartlan Community College's Community Commons Building (Room 1406) (1500 W Raab Rd, Normal, IL 61761).

In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorials to be made to fund a permanent flower garden honoring Ann on the campus of Heartland Community College in Normal, Illinois where she worked for twenty-nine years. Memorial donations can be made online at https://tinyurl.com.
