Rita F. Spannagel Obituary
We are sad to announce that on February 22, 2025, at the age of 96, Rita F. Spannagel of Nokomis, Illinois passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Rita F. Spannagel to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Epley and Caroline Epley (Hoehn); her husband Joseph D. Spannagel of Tolono, IL; her son Joseph Spannagel Jr.; and her siblings, Louis Epley, Lorriane Hallford, Kenneth Epley, Robert Epley, Rose Marie Clavin and Marie.
She is survived by: her daughter Jill Whitney (Duane) of Springfield; her grandchildren, Devan Whitney of Springfield and Olivia Whitney of St. Louis; and her siblings, Berniece Tuetken of Hillsboro, Mary Ann Stortzum (Kent) of Dietrich, Ruth Herpstreith of Nokomis, Barbara Drewes (Dan) of Chatham and Leo Epley of Washington, IL. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Louis Catholic Church (311 S Elm St, Nokomis, IL 62075). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St Patrick Cemetery (212 E Washington St, Tolono, IL 61880).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Louis Catholic Church or St. Louis Catholic School.
